Which of these two types of people are the radical thinker? The one that holds true selective passages as absolute while ignoring others or the one that wrestles with all of the Lords words while trying to apply them relevantly in their life?
Live your faith out loud!

There are people who do not believe in the Bible. Period. Regardless of what it says.
What consenting adults do in private is their own business. Not mine. Not the government’s. Not yours.

I once asked a pastor what it meant to be a Christian and he told me it meant to be Christ-like. Funny, because as far as I know Christ wasn’t a Christian…
So basicly, you’re allowed to pick and choose what rules to follow from the bible?

First let me welcome you two to our humble abode.
Double Edge, either your comment went way over my head or I just don’t see how any one is trying to get into your private business. That’s not what this post was about.
Moist Wipe, you may be putting the cart before the horse. To be a true Christian, is to try and walk, mimic, or follow in the footsteps of Christ and His teaching. Jesus Christ followed all of the Old Testament, and He shined light on the parts that we, humans, were getting wrong (as well as to create the new covenant). So, to your comment about picking and choosing rules of the Bible to live by, that is false. The Bible, in it’s entirety, is flawless (it flows together). The problem that most people get into is that they only take certain parts or passages of the Bible and apply those to their lives. We are called to take the Bible from front cover to back cover and apply it ALL to our lives.
So to the post; I say that the one who is wrestling with applying ALL of the Lords word to their lives is the authentic follower. The other that takes selective passages as absolute truth is the one that needs to reflect. Like I was just saying; to cut and paste the Bible will not make sense, however to take the entire Bible will make complete sense.
Sidebar: Depending on this women’s (in the video) knowledge and understanding of God’s word, she would have had a lot more to say for her rebuttal.

Jimmy Mac,
How I live my life is my business not yours! Christians spend way to much time telling us how we are to live when you don’t love either. Open your hypocritical eyes. This video only shows how stupid your religion is…. PERIOD
You guys don’t even agree on what your ONE BOOK says. The joke is on you.

Double Edge, (lovingly I type)
You’re right to a certain degree. “Religion” can be foolish. And unfortunately, it seems that you have only come in contact with religioned people. Obviously you are very angry with Christians, in general. But you can not judge everyone off of the few encounters you have had.
I hope that you may stick around and do some research on this blog, and then we can discuss more.
Also, as far as not agreeing on one book, that’s just not true. We may have different perspectives on subjects that were left open (which was on purpose), but we do agree on the basis of our foundation of faith. Which is the apostle’s creed:
I believe in God the Father, Almighty Maker of heaven and Maker of earth,
And in Jesus Christ His only begotten son our Lord.
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary.
Suffered under Pontius Pilate where he was crucified dead and buried.
He descended into hell and on the third day He rose again.
He ascended into heaven where He sits at God’s mighty right hand.
I believe that He’s returning to judge the quick and the dead of the sons of men.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, one Holy Church
The communion of saints, the forgiveness of sin
I believe in the resurrection
I believe in a life that never ends.
(I copied Third Day’s lyrics, it was much quicker)
Double Edge do you know anyone, or is there anyone on this blog (that is Christian) that does not believe this?
I’m sure that Christians are in one accord on this foundation.
God bless

Double Edged- Your tongue is as sharp as a double edged sword which leads me to believe you are a very angry person. However; I agree with you 100% on your first post, there are ALOT of people who, not only, dont believe what the Bible says but also dont believe in God PERIOD. And,unfortunately for them, that is their choice. You are also right that what you do in private is not our business. GOD gave us Free Will and if being a non believer is how you choose to exercise that right then so be it. But those of us who are believers and do follow the Bible know that it says Few will find the way(non believers and those who do not live by the Bible) and that GOD sees all. So… If you choose to NOT follow the Bible and are living outside its teachings while in private(or not)then you may also rest assured there will not be a place for you in Heaven.
