Does your church fellowship and the community in which you live have a symbiotic relationship? Can it? And if so how? And would that mean that your fellowships existence would greatly depend upon that relationship?

Just thinking out loud…

We are dependant on God and not the community, you should have thought this out before writting it, please.

  2. Delta Dawn did you never take an essay exam in school? You must read the whole question and answer each point in order to get a complete answer. OBVIOUSLY we are dependant on God but as a fellowship there are outside factors that could keep you from fellowshipping in certain places,or at least make it very difficult. I feel my fellowship has a good relationship to its community. Can it ? Absolutely How? By being a part of and giving back to that community. Dependant on our existence? Somewhat. You must be strong followers and can’t be afraid to go out in to the community even if you meet resistance. There will always be someone who doesnt agree or who doesnt want you there but we must stand firm in order to reach those who are trying to find the way. As a child raised as a Catholic living in an all Mormon town trust me I know how important a good relationship with your community is. I follow your train of thought on this one Larry. Keep on thinking…

It is these kinds of challenging thoughts that helped me to see the truth about authentic Christianity and leave my past beliefs. We don’t argue whether Christ had to die for us or not. It is a necessity and today it is just as much a necessity for the church to become transparent and become dependent upon it’s works. Beautiful thought, I pray that it catches on.

Without the works the church is dead to the world!

  4. This reminded me of Hebrews 12:14-15. We as the Church body must become the keepers and sharers of God’s absolute truth. That requires each of us to live in peace and work at living a holy life. The only way the world will see God, His promises and sacrifices is to not allow legalism and holy (worldly) pride to enter. So yes we need to become dependent upon the community so that God has an opportunity to express His love to each of them though each of us.

    Hebrews 12:14-15
14 Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord. 15 Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.
