The Wilson’s were very proud of their family history. Their ancestors had come to America on the Mayflower. Their family included Governors, Senators, Pastors, War Heros & CEO’s.

They decided to compile a family history, a legacy for the children. They hired a well known author. Only one problem arose as they began to outline their history: HOW TO HANDLE THAT GREAT UNCLE GEORGE who was executed in the electric chair. But the author said not to worry, he could handle that section of history tactfully.

When the book was published, the family first rushed to the section on Great Uncle George. There, they read “George Smith occupied a chair of applied electronics at an important government institution, was attached to his position by the strongest of ties, and his death cam as a real shock.

Is this what we have also done with God’s word and the life of Christ? Are you embarrassed by Christ, why twist and distort his life until it is palatable to this world then. How (when) did we come to the understanding that being a Christian improves our worldly life, well at least in God’s America, right.

We have taken and twisted Gods’ words to meet the wants of the natural man. Accept Christ and you will have health, wealth, glory, success and maybe even power. If we are offering the same things the flesh desires without God, why accept God? We need to spend time reflecting on God’s word while seeking the wisdom of the Holy Spirit to enlighten us in the truth.

What I stress to everyone is this, if what you’re reading in the bible doesn’t aline with all of scripture (both new and old), you have taken that piece of scripture out of its context. All of God’s word works together perfectly.

Ponder Romans 8:35-36 and try to explain this to the natural man and see if he’s a partaker! Can you convince him to share or take his portion?

Romans 8:35-36 NLT
35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”)

Just a brief excerpt from a resent conversation… your thoughts, comments and/or concerns?

Don’t get the wrong idea, it’s not about hell, fire and brimstone but of truth, promise, compassion, hope and love.

Come on isn’t this a bit extreme also, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep”. Are you trying to polarize the truth?

  2. Mudslingr,
Proof that Jesus has a sense of humor, he made you and a few other commentors.

So at what point have we made a right turn instead of a left turn with God. Which translation is correct and who is teaching the appropriate applications to our life?

You may have a great point, but do you hold the answer or are you just another rock thrower?
