I was standing today in the dark toolshed. The sun was shining outside and through the crack at the top of the door there came a sunbeam. From where I stood that beam of light, with specks of dust floating in it, was the most striking thing in the place. Everything else was almost pitch-black. I was seeing the beam, not seeing things by it. Then I moved so that the beam fell on my eyes. Instantly the whole previous picture vanished. I saw no toolshed, and (above all) no beam. Instead I saw, framed in the irregular cranny at the top of the door, green leaves moving on the branches of a tree outside and beyond, 90 odd million miles away, the sun. Looking along the beam, and looking at the beam are very different experiences.

    What a great reflection.

How sitting on the side lines and playing in the game are two very different experiences. Both are at the same game, but neither experience is the same.

This is just like living for the Lord. You can sit in the pews on Sundays and not do anything else but fill a seat. Or you can submerse yourself in the Lord, His word and truly be enlightened.

Like being in that tool shed, you can either look along the beam or place yourself directly in front of God and then you will see Him in all His beauty and His glory.

To me this is very thought provoking. Thanks Larry.

    God bless

  2. Very cool, come out of the darkness and immerse yourself in His light {glory and grace}. Yah, it’s easy to watch but to live it out, that’s hard. Yet when we really do put our faith in Him he gives us the courage and faith follow in His foot steps. We must remember that it was Christ first that hung on the cross.

Take some times along with God and His word and see for yourself that He asked us to act out in a way that will always bring glory to Him.

    NO MORE PEW WARMERS

Living life to a different beat
