How did you do?
Funny to see how we get so wrapped up in details that we miss the most obvious. How many times has God tried to get your attention while you dwelled on the insignificant?
In the video the announcer comes right out and tell us clearly that this is an awareness test. The definition of awareness is having knowledge; conscious; cognizant: informed; alert. So how aware are you really?
This gets me thinking about religion. I wonder how aware we are of what we do and why we do it. I also wonder if we get wrapped up in all the little details of being religious that we actually miss God all together.
Don’t get mad, it’s just an opinion. And by the way, how did you do on the test again?
Just another challenging thought…

This is great!!!!!!!! and yes I feel religion is much like this. Blinded from God by all the junk!

Unfortunately this is true.
We get wrapped up in the things that are non important. We focus too much on what others think about the building, the programs, the dress wear, etc., that we miss the true reason of why we gather together. To worship and praise our Lord and Savior.
The devil wants to blind us to the truth, so that we may take our eyes off the Lord. That is Satan’s goal. And he has done a great job at it! By making us focus on the insignificant things of this world, we are no longer focusing on God.
And to be honest, it happens to everyone. Just as it happened to me with this video, I too get blinded by the world from time to time. But the difference, that has to be made, is that we are making a conscious effort to correct our sort comings. That we realize that living for the Lord is a life long changing process. And that we fight, with the world and ourselves, to get closer to God, day by day, inch by inch.
Just my two cents. Welcome back Larry.
God bless

I too failed this test! I was totally trying to count the number of passes. We in this world tend to forget and get focused on whats going on in the world around us, especially the unpleasant stuff that we forget we need to keep our focus on God. All of this around us is temporary but God’s Love and his word are eternal.

Are you Potty Trained or are you just walking around stinking up God’s beautiful World!!!!
Sorry guys I couldn’t resist. This made me reflect on something Larry said in the sermon yesterday.
Larry spoke about how horrible it would be if our grown children never caught on to the whole potty training thing. How awful that would be. So try to imagine how God feels if after we claim to accept Him as our Lord and Savior but we never grow up to truly honor and fulfill all he has commanded. It’s all about growing up and leaving the bottle and moving on to solid food.
Take some time out to reflect on the beauty around us and give back to those less fortunate and Give God all the Glory!!! Amen.

Great video, but what I want to know is what Terri Jo is talking about. Potty training and growing up as a Christian. Interesting, please tell all of us more.

Larry is giving a 4 week sermon on living a missional Christian life, Share, Connect, Grow, Serve. How not to just be a pew warmer. Having the ability to grow up and grow out. We all begin as babies in our Christian walk but there comes a time that we must grow away from the bottle and start on solid food. We all must evaluate our lives and see where we are as children of God.
Have you ever seen someone take that enormous step as a new Christian. You prayed and prayed for this person and finally they did it. They accepted Christ as their Savior, only to find a few weeks later that the fire has been put out by the world. We as Christians are responsible to feed these babies, help them to grow, nurture them.
We are failing as disciples, God chose us to continue His work here on Earth. How are we to continuing His work if we never grow up as Christians.
The potty training came in as a visual aid for us all to remember how life would be if we never learned as babies, just as some Christians never grow into mature Christians just going to Church on Sunday and thinking that is enough, in essence stinking up Gods glorious world. A little humor.

I wont throw any names out but those of you that hang out @HOME should consider watching this video. It is an excellent example of how some of you just might read and contextualize.
Focusing only on a single point (word) and missing the complete message.
I just keep going back to what my MOMMY use to tell me… and thats another story.
