Episcopal bishop Gene Robinson knows he is inviting death threats by entering into a civil union with his gay partner on the eve of his church’s biggest ecclesiastical conference. And he says it is worth it, because he is doing what God asks of him.

I believe a lot of the pain and grief caused by many churchgoers and even church-leaders is because we operate from an incorrect perspective of the Church. Dallas Willard has said we are at the mercy of our thoughts. If we embrace a false perspective of Church, it will ultimately lead us to a false experience as the Church.

“Church event parking, all unsaved use left lane”
Imagine driving down the road and seeing such a sign. I’m sure there are those that would approve, but this one is just a joke. Please don’t try this at your church.

I was once again asked the question, what does the bible say about tattoos? And as usual I responded back with the question, why? The young man explained that he had been told that if he was going to be a Christian he could not get a tattoo (mark his body). As the nice guy I am I quickly more…

Would we be following Jesus today if he only spoke well of God and His glory? In short, I’m sure if Christ hadn’t lived his life according to the prophetic word, while demonstrating how we too should live, none , none of us would be following him today. That would be hypocritical of him!
So why do we think we can live our faith with words of justification?
And we wonder why the church is declining. The world needs to see Christ in all those that profess to be his follower.
Just think about….
It was never mint to be about religious denominations, associations, affiliation or political parties. Jesus gave his life for all of us. So in the end who wins or loses? You, I or God
