21 “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. 22 On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ 23 But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’ Matthew 7:21-23

Your name on a church role, going to church or even calling yourself a Christian doesn’t make you any more a Christian than you standing on the runway at Phoenix International with your arms out wide makes you an airplane!

Satan has done a wonderful job. I wonder how many of us have been fooled in to believing that it is really all about our desires. Just imagine the chill that will run down the backs of those that profess to be Christian as He says, “I never knew you, now get away from me.

And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. Joshua 24:15

Each of us must make a conscious decision, either way, for or against, a free willed choice. I with my house, we too will serve the LORD.

So now the question is to you. Whom will you serve and please consider the cost!

This is one of my constant fears.

Many people (including myself) have at some point believed that mere words and actions can get you into heaven. Going to church, bible study, having devotions and professing the Lord as your savior are all great things. But it says in Mat 7:14 “For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

So, going through the motions cannot be a formula, that will guarantee you access. All of us “know of” the Lord, how many of us truly “know” Him. Yes, we live our lives and proclaim them in the name of Jesus Christ, but how many of us are speaking the truth. If “few will find the gate” then we can’t “all” be truthfully walking the walk. It is a constant struggle to really release ourselves, from our pride, desires, self ambition, etc., but if and only if we truly surrender to God; then to His promise we can cling. For we know His word will never come back void.

Jesus never said following Him was easy. In fact we are told to be ready for persecution, death, quarrels, and hard ships. (Not because that’s what He wants for us, but because that’s what the world what’s for us.) That’s why we are told to consider the cost, for that cost is great and is more than some are willing to pay.

Heavenly Father, I pray for your guidance and direction for all of us. May we become the people we were intended to be. May your will be done in our lives, may we remain on Your path. Father, may all that we do bring honor and glory to You and You alone. Amen.

    God bless

  2. And may we live and die for you Father.May we mortify the flesh and die daily. Part of us has to die , and the cost is high.

“Christ is to be cherished, not just chosen…..He will be magnified most among the nations when, at the moment Christians lose everything on earth, they say, ‘To live is Christ, and to die is gain’(Phil. 1:21).” John Piper

  4. You mean when I’m standing in my garage and go brrrrrrm, brrrrrrm, I’m not a sports car? Man, that’s a real bummer. At least I died in the flesh and will live in eternity with my savior Jesus.

I wonder how many people have ever really gotten this dyeing thing? And it certainly isn’t about changing hair color. You must be willing to give up everything and ones self to truly experience the joy that Jesus can only bring. Funny thing, when you’ve understood it and submitted, God my father refuses to stop showering me with blessing.

This is just another guilt trip to get people to do what he wants them to do. “I never knew you, now get away from me”, please that is one lame statement. Like a loving god would say such a thing to someone that believes in him. Larry you can certainly do better that this can’t you. DONT YOU THINK THAT YOU MAY HAVE TAKEN SOME LIBERTY WITH THIS VERSE. People look around with open intelligent eyes, he’s snowing you.

  6. guilt is good .it shows that your concious is being touched by God himself.

  7. me too also please dont find the bible foolish without first hanging with some true reverant believers and without asking for what you need to see to make life here joy filled. Christ loves us as his bride anddoes and has always exspressed jealosy. P.S. SATIN BELEIVES IN GOD…

  8. Jammer, how would you know what reverent is if you are brainwashed to believe such rubbish. How do you know that the folks you are hanging with are believers, please how can you really know. All this religion stuff is for the birds, go to church, give your money and sign your name to the role. The church only wants our resources so it can continue to sit on it’s thrown as a fat the pig. The same is true with our government representatives.

    To all of you……………
What plant are all of you from?

  9. personally,I beleive that God has completed his work, of saving souls only truogh the church.”sitting on its throne”Gods had enough of that and saves souls in great mutitudes that no man can count, out side of the church and local congregations.JED LISTEN realy i am aman like any other man and you would more than likley meet me as an ordinary average dude. however God has enterd my heart recently and reveals his truths to me more and more every day. Please dont account the Bible foolish and come exsperience the love yeah Isaid love of others in fellowship. Youll know we are christians by our love.

    Welcome ME-TOO-ALSO and Jed C,

The thing to remember is that the Bible was written for the saved. To those that are unsaved, the Bible MAY seem to be mere “rubbish”. All we can do is show others the true love of Christ.

So, if it is a rise you look for; you may have come to the wrong web site. But I hope that while you are here, you may look around and see what an authentic faith can look like. Yes, there are many hypocritical Christians out there in the world; you probably have seen more of those than true Christ Followers. I pray that your ears, eyes and heart will be opened to the love of Christ and not focused on the hypocrisy that you may have encountered.

If you feel that these versus are taken out of context, please, pick up a bible and read them for yourselves. True religion is one that CAN be tested by those that are not affiliated. I wish that I can say that, ALL of us Christians are living the life we are called to live, but that’s not true. That’s why it is written that only “few will find the way”.

If you have questions; you have surely come to the right place. This is an open discussion. Ask away! The floor is yours.

    God bless

When one starts to look at the church only; there getting there eyes off of Christ- Jesus Blood saves us, past present and future when we accept Him into our lives. The Bible state “the message of the cross is foolishness to those that are perishing but to us who are being saved it is the power of God” 1 Cor 1:18-

hey MeTOO Jesus says come to me as you are and He will will give you rest

The beutiful thing is Jesus who is God loved you so much enough to die for you saying “in my Fathers house are many mansions if it were not so I would not have told you” Believe He wants to do something with you’r life.

Don’t think its chance that you came and viewed this website.

But as the verse does state about Christ saying He never knew them is because alot of people sadly do only talk and do not walk the christian life- but thanks be to God who gives us the strength to continue.
