Any thoughts or comments? I thought we where to carry our cross, not hang from it?

There is nothing like hanging around for the Lord!

Where does one go to school to become an expert crucifixion nail driver? How’s the pay and does the economy effect your position (job security)? I’m just thinking that after the presidential race there might be an overwhelming need for people in this position.

The narrow pins, not spikes are carefully placed and with a single tap of a hammer, done. So let us review what we’ve learned today. In the crucification they us surgical steel thin pins and not dirty rusted old spikes. They skillfully placed (expert nail drivers) the 4″ tall thin pins so that with a single blow of a hammer they stick into the wooden cross. This would tell you that the pins are extremely sharp. Contrary to the 12+ inch crudely made spikes of Jesus’ day.
The last time I read about crucifixions. The archeological evidence proved that they drove the spikes (not surgical steel narrow pins) through the beams and from the back side bent the tips over. This ensured that they could not get free.
Talk about diminishing the real crucification.
We don’t even need to go into the biblical issues of mutilation.
Just as the commentator said in the beginning, “This is not a mock crucifixion, it’s the real thing.” Somehow I just can’t see Jesus being crucified this way, do you?
Us the Force!
