Even though I do not agree with Brain McClaren on many issues, I am totally with him on this one.

  1. WOW! What a purfect statement of the “church” today. He is so right about how “worship” has been turned into some type of curcus act or side show event. We come to the building. Sit in the “best” seat. Watch as the praise team (singing group) takes the “stage” and sings “praise” to God, while the spot light is on them. Final the preacher gets up and makes some whitty comments for 10 minutes. One more, encore, “performance” from the singers, then we rush out to get on with the day. I ask, at any point, when is God the center of what is going on? When the singers are front and center? When the preacher is “teaching”? I think the truth is “we”, meaning people, have taken God out of the picture so that “we” get the glory, and then we dont have to feel guilty about what happens the rest of the week. I am verry glad that this group has come together to try and keep God in the center of everything. I pray that no one looses the vission that this group was started with. May we continue to keep our eyes pointing up, tyo keep our vertical response.
