Have you ever wondered about the trust Jesus Christ had in His Father? Think about it for one moment. Jesus in the flesh trusted His Father with His eternal life. I sometimes wonder what it takes to be that kind of child. You know, the kind that trusts their father even through adulthood. Humbly obedient to their father at all cost.

Son, just go into mans world, born to an unwed teen, in a cave, growing up in a poor home and working as a construction worker, just to suffer great tests and persecutions. Then I want you to start a ministry that will only last 3 years ending in your torturous death on the cross. Wait, I’m not done with you yet! You need to die and go to the darkest pits of darkness for three days and then I will bring you home to rule over all the heavens. Son I love you and you need to just trust me on this one. It will all be good in the end.

So as I process this, the real question becomes clear. It isn’t about the trust of the child in the father, but the father giving the child the security of his unconditional love. In other words, it’s how the father lives and cares for his children that gives them the will to trust and surrender unconditionally.

God and Jesus both gave us the perfect example for us fathers and children to live by. It’s time to live our faith out loud.

Just another thought from another troubled heart

  1. You hear it softened behind the pulpit. You read bits and peaces throughout the lving word, yet honestly I have never looked at Christ in this easy reading light. Brillant, true and yet simply clear. A complete picture!!!

Just think if we all started really living our lives for God, trusting in Him alone. WOW!

Larry, thank you for your heart felt compassion and desire to share with all of us through the electronic universe.
