41 But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! 42 There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”

It is so easy for us in the church to get caught up in the things of Jesus, while missing Jesus. This passage is a wonderful reminder to stop, drop and pray. Sit and listen to the Lord, He wants to talk with you.

Why is so much emphasis placed on specials, programs and church business? Do you really think that we are making a dent in reaching the lost? Or is this how we can keep busy so that we don’t feel the need to do what is actually desired of us by Jesus? Jesus, I would go and talk to neighbor about YOU, but I’m to busy getting ready for my church program, but I’ll be asking them to come to it. We all know that the church building, its members, nor its clergy saves anyone (I hope you know this). It is all Christ! Yet we work and work and work around Jesus, but seldom (at best) do we take the time to sit with Him.

I wonder if “The Donut Man” ever sat down to enjoy the donut?

Just a passing thought.

Sit a spell, take your shoes off.

This too is such a riot. Our church is always running at a 200 MPH and boy is it ugly when someone hits an oil patch.

Looking at the donut dudes body I would say he had his share of donuts, but I doubt he enjoyed them. It would be more like an eat and run.
