VRM Celebrated its Last Anniversary Service
If you were here Sunday, the following announcement is of no surprise. All good things must come to an end…

Today was the end of a grand run for VRM as they will not be celebrating another anniversary. As Pastor Larry puts it, “we had a wonderful 2 years but it is now over”. This morning during service the congregation discussed how people immediately associate anniversaries with numbers. As if it were a method of evaluating the commitment, success and or determination of a person or group. And we all know that it is numbers that usually gets us into trouble.
Oh, it’s your anniversary, how many years has it been?
Do years really matter? Not really, they are for us not God. So this morning Pastor Larry asked the congregation if they wanted to continue having anniversaries or should we make the first Sunday of October into our homecoming service. A service that brings all our friends and family back together for an annual celebration of what God has done in each of our lives.
Yes, it’s a special day but now it’s one that doesn’t provoke the question, “How Many Years”. Think about it, the Church belongs to Christ and he has been having anniversaries for over 2000 years.
