Have you ever wondered about the trust Jesus Christ had in His Father? Think about it for one moment. Jesus in the flesh trusted His Father with His eternal life. I sometimes wonder what it takes to be that kind of child. You know, the kind that trusts their father even through adulthood. Humbly obedient to their father at all cost.
Son, just go into mans world, born to an unwed teen, in a cave, growing up in a poor home and working as a construction worker, just to suffer great tests and persecutions. Then I want you to start a ministry that will only last 3 years ending in your torturous death on the cross. Wait, I’m not done with you yet! You need to die and go to the darkest pits of darkness for three days and then I will bring you home to rule over all the heavens. Son I love you and you need to just trust me on this one. It will all be good in the end.
So as I process this, the real question becomes clear. It isn’t about the trust of the child in the father, but the father giving the child the security of his unconditional love. In other words, it’s how the father lives and cares for his children that gives them the will to trust and surrender unconditionally.
God and Jesus both gave us the perfect example for us fathers and children to live by. It’s time to live our faith out loud.
It is now appearant that they both use the same marketing stradigies.
I quote, “It isn’t about fighting it’s about spectacle”, you can see a remarkable similarity between much of today’s so called Christian television and professional wrestling. It’s all about the show!
Deuteronomy 10:11-13
11 Then the Lord said to me, ‘Get up and resume the journey, and lead the people to the land I swore to give to their ancestors, so they may take possession of it.’
12 “And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him and serve him with all your heart and soul. 13 And you must always obey the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good.
Why are we drawn to hope and not love? Simple really, love does not always feel good, it corrects us when we wander off. The hope we humans seek typically ends in discouragement, because it is not in Jesus we hope, but the world.
He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now. He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him. But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes. 1 John 2:2-11 NKJ
AMPLIFIED BIBLE TRANSLATION
Whoever says he is in the Light and [yet] hates his brother [Christian, born-again child of God his Father] is in darkness even until now. Whoever loves his brother [believer] abides (lives) in the Light, and in It or in him there is no occasion for stumbling or cause for error or sin.
But he who hates (detests, despises) his brother [in Christ] is in darkness and walking (living) in the dark; he is straying and does not perceive or know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes. 1 John 2:2-11 AMP
The problem we typically have is that we tent to think that those that we do not like (hate) are not our brother or sister in Christ (Christians). We all better take another look at God’s word for clarification!
I really love how the amplified drives it home, leaving no stone unturned. Don’t you.
What do I do on Halloween Night? This seems to be the really big question these days. Why? Does it really matter what my family does? As promised, I am posting for the world to see the behind the scenes of the Diehl family Halloween night. I have emptied my email box so that I can make room for the complaints. God’s speed to you all.
41 But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! 42 There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Luke 10:41-42, But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”
What details are in the way of you sitting at the feet of Jesus and just listening to Him.
What is life about? Can any of us really put our arms all the way around it? No! Last year we started a tradition. Before our Christmas service, we had decided to give the entire Christmas offering to the homeless people here in Phoenix. Here is how God works, to show His Glory. Continue Reading »
