Hi everyone, first I want to thank you for all the emails. I am just fine and all as usual is wonderful at camp Larry Land. Let me explain what it was that was going on in my head. Around Easter I felt a need to take a break from outside influences and just concentrate on God and His Word, kind of like going on a fast from outside influences.
As not to spark a debate, I just stopped writing and reading blogs. Pretty much totally avoiding the internet. Guess what? After coming back to the blog community I see that many of us should take a few days off for some personal time of reflection. Realizing that the words we put down on paper can REALLY effect peoples lives. And not always in a positive.
Christian Brothers and Sisters, let us reflect on what Hosea 4:4-10 speaks of. I personally like how Eugene Peterson puts it in the Message….
4-10 “But don’t look for someone to blame. No finger pointing! You, priest, are the one in the dock. You stumble around in broad daylight, And then the prophets take over and stumble all night. Your mother is as bad as you. My people are ruined because they don’t know what’s right or true. Because you’ve turned your back on knowledge, I’ve turned my back on you priests. Because you refuse to recognize the revelation of God, I’m no longer recognizing your children. The more priests, the more sin. They traded in their glory for shame. They pig out on my people’s sins. They can’t wait for the latest in evil. The result: You can’t tell the people from the priests, the priests from the people. I’m on my way to make them both pay and take the consequences of the bad lives they’ve lived.
No need to point fingers, I just challenge all of us to take a serious look at ourselves and what we write. In other words what good will come from it, if any. Or is this my chance to bash on someone without recourse. Remember we will all give an account for every word spoken and yes even blogged.
God bless and I look forward to conversing with all of you.
