Acts 3:13-15
13 The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures. They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus.14 But since they could see the man who had been healed standing right there among them, there was nothing the council could say.15 So they ordered Peter and John out of the council chamber and conferred among themselves.

Have you ever thought about these verses? It sounds much like what is going on within our church culture today. The council grumbles, look, look closely they don’t fit the mold and we have not given our seal of approval. They have not jumped through enough hoops and they have not paid their dues or gone to the approved schools. This whole house church and emergent thing is just appalling! Who do you they think they are?

What will we do with them? Even though their statement of faith and teachings are inline with the bible, it’s wrong. That is not how we have always done it. Or is it! It appears to me that in Acts 3:13 Peter and John where the emergent church of its time dealing with the same issues the post modern church is dealing with today.

I ask this one question, what is it these people have a problem with? Honestly? There are really two issues that must be met. First are they Christ-centered in their teachings and living out their faith. And secondly, what is the fruit they are producing. Good fruit from a good tree and bad fruit from a bad tree.

Let us all practice what we profess, allowing grace to level and fill all of our imperfections. Remember, emergent today will be old school tomorrow.

One thing will always remain, watch and remember what the Church is.

God Bless and Keep it real.
