I have heard over and over again in my life, that you better not ask God for patients. If you do, heaven forbid, God will give it to you through teaching you a hard “how to be patient” lesson and you don’t want that. Is this truly the appearance of God or mans creative thinking. I have looked and looked and yes God does use lessons in our lives to teach us, but it does not say that’s the only way or His preferred way.

The way I see it, if your needing patients you are in need of it now, not for some far off distant day. In other words, your in a time of trials and your fading fast. Why would God give you more than you can handle. Your asking for help from God shows that you can no longer handle the situation and need help. Not more trials!

So the real test is whether or not we trust God to give us what we need. I know what you’re going to ask me. How does one pass THAT test? Simple, ask God to give you the patients needed to overcome the situation you are already in.

The common lesson God presents though out the bible is this. We must learn to believe in and trust in Him. That is what God wants of all of us. He isn’t sitting in His high thrown of judgment to declare each of us unworthy and on occasion allows scraps to fall from His table for us to fight over.

Is God trying to teach us to over come obstacles in our lives on our own or is He longing for us to trust in Him. Allowing God to carry us victoriously to the winner’s circle.

So what is the biblical view vs. mans creative view?

FACT #1
Mark 9:32 But they did not understand this saying, and were afraid to ask Him. (NKJ)

Just before this verse Jesus is explaining to his disciples that He would soon die and they did not understand. So what happened because they did not ask? Did they have to endure the god test to develop the skill of understanding? NO. Whether or not they understood, Jesus would still be crucified. If they would have asked for the knowledge they would have understood better, that’s all.

FACT #2
Matthew 6:8
“Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.

So God already knows what each of us need. So if God knows, what is He waiting for? I’ll tell you, God wants us to ask so that we know it is the power of God and not ourselves.

FACT #3
Matthew 7:7:11
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

What was that God? I didn’t understand you, would you repeat that for me? Ask and God will provide according to our needs. Since God already know what we need, don’t you think it’s a better bet to ask for it.

So I will close with this prayer. Lord, magnificent creator. Although I am not worthy of someone giving their life for me, your Son did. Thank you, thank you Lord. I ask you for the same patience that you continue to have for me. That my life will exhibit your traits each day. I praise you and thank you with each breathe. Amen
